A Note From The Boss

When I created AbleComm, way back in 1977, I had no idea what the future would hold—whether the company would fail, thrive, or merely survive. The company did survive, despite dramatic ups and downs. We had some major successes (e.g.: becoming the biggest Panasonic phone system dealer in the world) and some dramatic failures (e.g.: the automatic-dialing PizzaPhone).

We faced powerful competition from Amazon.com and "big box" stores; and technology advances led to constantly lower prices at the same time that the costs of being in business increased. Each year we had to sell more to make the same profit. 

Our staff grew and shrunk. We changed from being a home-based business to renting warehouse space to moving home again. Despite all the changes and difficulties, the business remained fun.

Now, in my mid-70s, after 44 years in business, it's time to retire (gradually). This website will gradually shrink, but we still have things to sell (with no online ordering) and will provide tech support.
