Panasonic KX-TAW848 FAQs

When I try to connect my phone system / voicemail system with Panasonic program, I get “can’t open USB port …”, “USB device can’t be found… “ or a similar message.
These messages are usually related to USB device driver issues. You may verify or re-install USB drivers with device manager under your PC’s control panel. There is a much easier way to fix USB driver issues by running the USB Driver Tool, which will install all necessary USB drivers automatically.
Note: Each phone system and voice processor requires its own USB driver.

Sometimes, my cell type cordless phones (KX-TD7680 or 7690) don’t ring
Assigning cordless phone extension number directly into an ICD group often causes this problem. The 7680 and 7690 cordless phones communicate with the phone system through cell station and therefore the communication path from the cordless phones to system is limited by the number of cell stations. The cordless phones ringing issue often appears when the number of cordless phones far exceeds the number of cell stations. The proper way to program cordless phones to ring is that first assign cordless phones into a PS ring group (groups --- PS ring group), then assign the PS ring group floating extension number into an ICD group and finally assign this ICD group number as CO line destination.

When I tried to access speed dial, it does not call out.
When storing speed dial number of external parties, the stored speed dial number must include CO (outside line) access code (9 or 81…etc) even with direct line access. If the external number is 1234567, you must store the speed dial number as 91234567. This rule applies to all system speed dial, station speed dial and speed dial key.

I tried to connect my system remotely but the program software returns an error.
The most common issue when connecting system remotely with our program tools is that our program tools support ONLY full function self-supporting modems (equipped with internal processor). Our program tools do not support Win Modems. Most low cost modems or free modems included with PC's are Win Modems.

How do I remove privacy and be able to join in on an ongoing call?
The feature, busy override or executive busy override, allows extension user to barge into an existing conversation by selecting the line key and dial 3. This feature is enabled/disabled in station COS (class of service). Extension has COS (class of service), which has this feature enabled, can barge into ANY CO (central office or outside) line.
