Configuring your Panasonic KX-TAW848
●The KX-TAW848 is initially configured for 4 lines and 4 phones.
●Its maximum capacity is 8 lines and 51 phones (but all phones can't be in use at one time.)
●You increase capacity and add features by installing optional modules.
 The KX-TAW848 color is off-white, not gray as in photos on this page.)
◄There are empty spaces on the connection panel for two 4-port modules, two 8-port modules, and a door intercom/opener module.
Photo at top of page shows optional modules installed.
  • If you want to add more lines, you need a KX-TAW84880 module (4 ports).
  • If you want to add more multi-line phones, you can use the KX-TAW84870 (4 ports) or KX-TAW84875 module (4 ports) or KX-TAW84876 (8 ports)
  • If you want to add more single-line phones you can use the KX-TAW84870 module (4 ports) or KX-TAW84874 (8 ports).
  • If you want to have door intercom speakers and/or remote unlocking, you need the KX-TAW84861 module.
  • DSS/BLF consoles can connect to the KX-TAW84875 module (4 ports) or KX-TAW84870 (4 ports) or KX-TAW84876 (8 ports) or the 4-port module that is permanently installed.
  • Voice Processors can connect to the KX-TAW84875 module (4 ports) or KX-TAW84870 (4 ports) or KX-TAW84876 (8 ports) or the 4-port module that is permanently installed.
  • 24 of your phones could be wireless (of which up to eight could be in use at one time, through four cell stations). They can connect to the KX-TAW84875 module (4 ports) or KX-TAW84870 (4 ports) or KX-TAW84876 (8 ports) or the 4-port module that is permanently installed.

IMPORTANT:
●The 4-port phone module that is permanently installed and the optional KX-TAW84870
4-port module can work with single-line phones, multi-line phones, DSS/BLF consoles, voice processors, and KX-T0141 cell stations (wireless antennas).
●The KX-TAW84875 4-port phone module and KX-TAW84876 8-port phone module can work with multi-line phones, DSS/BLF consoles, voice processors, and KX-T0141 cell stations; but NOT single-line phones.


 
◄There are also mounting locations
inside the cabinet for modules
that do not need external connections.
  1. If you want to improve the sound on conference calls, get the KX-TAW84866 module.
  2. If you want to have Caller ID, get the KX-TAW84893 module. For more than 4 lines, get two.
  3. If you want to have Caller ID on single-line phones or a PC, get the KX-TAW84868 module.
  4. If you want fax detection and DISA (Direct Inward System Access), get the KX-TAW84891 module.
  5. If you want to be able to do remote programming by modem, get the KX-TAW84896 module.
