The DSX-40 is the smallest control unit in the NEC DSX line. It's initially equipped to handle 4 lines with up to 8 digital multi-line phones and 2 analog single-line phones (or phone-like devices, such as faxes, modems or credit card terminals).
At all configuration levels, it can handle 2 door intercom speakers. Dedicated connections are provided for music-on-hold, background music, paging and programming. Local and remote PC programming can be done through its USB, Ethernet and RS-232 ports. Phone and line connections are through 8-pin ("RJ45") jacks.
Auto attendant and voicemail are provided with an optional IntraMail card that fits into a dedicated slot.
Caller ID is built-in, for both digital and analog phones.
