They're made from a heavy 1/4" thick block of brass, and available with a variety of finishes -- perfect for a traditional or contemporary home, or a high-class business. The photos can't do them justice; the speakers are absolutely gorgeous!
They're designed for outdoor use, equipped with a vandal-resistant protective metal screen, weather-resistant components, and a dirt- and bug-blocking gasket. You'll need a rough-in box (order below) for flush mounting in new construction or renovation, or a surface-mount box to mount on an existing wall. If you order a white intercom speaker, a white box is included at no extra charge. If you order another color, you get a black box. We can't change what's in the box, or exchange black for white. Sorry. (updated 1/12/05)
Plate dimensions: 6 1/2” high x 4 3/8” wide x 1/4” thick. Warranty is TWO years -- twice as long as Panasonic's intercom speaker. Installation is simple: just splice two internal wires to wires going to your phone system control unit. Package includes vandal-resistant mounting screws, and hex wrench. Compatible with Panasonic KX-T, KX-TA, KX-TD, KX-TDA, KX-TAW and VA phone systems that use a central control unit ("KSU"). NOT for KSU-less or cordless/wireless systems like KX-T3282 and KX-TG4500.
You're not getting just a faceplate. It's a complete intercom station, with microphone, speaker, pushbutton, electronics,
and surface-mount box, costing just $194, with FREE shipping in the USA.

A dealer near Orlando, Florida charges $172 for just a faceplate and the rough-in box. You'll also have to pay them $32.63 for a Panasonic speaker to disassemble for needed components, and pay $11.70 for shipping. They claim to be selling for "rock bottom wholesale prices," but you'd have to pay them a total of $216.33, and then find a button that fits in the hole, and spend an hour or more at your workbench. You'll have to be pretty darn handy and have a good collection of hardware, to attach the components to the back of their plate. |
