Hot Line

A “Hot Line” phone can be programmed so that it automatically dials a number when it goes off-hook. It can dial an internal (intercom) number or external number. The Hot Line feature cannot be programmed on extension 20. The Hot Line feature is often used for a fax or modem. The extension can be set to automatically select a line so the fax or modem does not have to dial 9.

Power Failure Operation

Your EncoreCX system can be equipped with an optional Battery Backup Unit (BBU). When battery backup is equipped, full operation of the EncoreCX system can continue for at least one hour in a power failure. If the system is not equipped with battery backup when a power failure occurs, analog CO lines are switched automatically to standard telephones and calls can be made and received on these lines until the power is restored. These connections are made in the CCU.

PBX Mode

The EncoreCX system can be programmed to operate in either PBX or Key System Mode. It normally operates in Key system mode, where lines are associated with the line keys (buttons) on the multi-line phones. The line status (busy, free or ringing) is indicated on all phones programmed with the lines. In PBX mode, line keys on phones are not associated with specific lines. Line status is indicated only on the phone making the call. When a line key is selected on a phone, the line light is lit only on the phone selecting the line
